Production Supervisor - 2nd shift
Casa Grande, AZ

Summary:

The main function of Production Supervisor will be to support manufacturing operations through day-to-day management of MRO and material purchasing functions for Price Industries Inc. The Production Supervisor will report to the Value Stream Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Place, maintain, and expedite orders for production and miscellaneous parts.
  • Control costs through negotiations, make vs. buy decisions, process changes and material substitutions.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Engineering, Finance, and Quality Assurance.
  • Protect Price’s interests balancing both short and long-term objectives.
  • Work without close supervision, understanding what needs to be done and taking required actions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • College degree + 2 years’ experience (Bachelor’s degree preferred), or high school degree + 5 years’ experience.

Experience and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of commercial purchasing practices and procedures.
  • Good computer skills (including Microsoft Office products).
  • Proficient in using ERP processes.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs and/or ladder.
  • Plan workflow in all work centers of the GRD departments according to weekly sales goals.
  • Interact with other departments concerning material flow and machining problems.
  • Monitor, evaluate and document hourly associates on work performance, behavioral and attendance issues.
  • Ability to give constructive feedback.
  • Support employees in meeting performance expectations through coaching and training methods.
  • Ensure that associates are qualified to work in all areas by implementing cross training.
  • Enforce all safety, work, housekeeping and preventative maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Track and report employee hours and attendance through IDT time keeping system.
  • Encourage team building to promote a better work environment.
  • Consistent at all times with the plant rules, policies and contractual agreements.
  • Able to manage labor hours with emphasis to meet daily production goals.
  • Implement and maintain continuous improvement projects such as 5’s, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and ISO training to improve downtime and increase uptime through the reduction of quality issues by following processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and build employee morale.
  • Ability to bend and kneel.
  • Background in purchasing of MRO items in industrial environment.
  • Background establishing and maintaining vendor/client relationships.

Travel Requirements and Objectives:

  • Perform daily tasks effectively and proficiently.
  • Solve receiving and/or invoicing problems.
  • Manage suppliers for cost, on time delivery, and quality.
  • Lead efforts to establish vendor managed inventory systems.
  • Contribute to the overall cost reductions at Price Industries.

Senior Designer
Winnipeg, MB

The Price Global Projects Group is charged with the development of system solutions for world-class, large campus-type projects from around the globe.  The group is currently working on amazing projects in California, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and Kuwait. The group leverages all areas of the Price business in order to supply highly integrated solutions for mechanical systems, architectural metals and louvers, as well as custom systems which are highly project and client specific. 

The position of Senior Designer offers exciting opportunities in Global Projects to lead the design, specification, and supply of these systems. The projects vary from small-scale retail projects to large, multidisciplinary design work for huge projects to commercializing some of the solutions developed through the course of the group’s project work. We are looking for an individual who is technically inclined, energetic, productive, can provide excellent attention to detail, can handle multiple priorities in a timely fashion with a high level of accuracy, and has the ability to work independently. Communication skills are critical as the role will require interfacing with world-leading engineers, architects, and owners, as well as our commercial partners.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Finishing and designing extrusions and sheet metal would be considered an asset.
  • Presentation experience.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Service mentality with a high sense of urgency.
  • Experience with SolidEdge, AutoCAD.
  • Experience with MS Office.
  • Ability to travel through North America and Internationally.
