Quality Engineer
Suwanee, GA

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer will interface with both manufacturing and the customer service team on the resolution of customer issues, develop and administer ISO 9001, and support manufacturing initiatives to improve quality. This position works with all aspects of the manufacturing team, customer service, and directly with our sales representatives and customers. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and administer ISO 9001 for the facility.
  • Assisting or taking the lead in direct day-to-day QA activities.
  • Assisting the Quality Manager with preparing monthly quality reports that show analysis of quality data and issues, providing recommendations to management.
  • Providing resolution to all customer inquiries of quality issues regarding Price product and its application. This will include some travel to customer sites, along with coordinating trips by others.
  • Support manufacturing in troubleshooting and analyzing quality issues within the plant.
  • Lead efforts to determine the root cause of problems and work with the team to eliminate.
  • In coordination with Value Stream Managers, lead continuous improvement efforts in the plant, focusing on reducing waste and eliminating variability in the processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors of Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) or mix of education and experience.
  • Advance degree in engineering or management is a plus.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance role working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated computer skills (must be proficient in MS Office).
  • Familiarity with ISO certification process (ISO 9001:2008 preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints, technical drawings, and contract specifications.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interact well with customers on the phone and in person is a must.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytic skills.

SPECIAL TRAINING:

  • ISO 9001 lead auditor training would be a plus.
  • Six Sigma or lean manufacturing training would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with AutCAD technical drawing software or equivalent.

SERVICE OVERVIEW:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for supervising the QMS system, processes, and support for the facility. This includes:

  • Managing ISO system functions such as internal audits/corrective actions.
  • Managing resolution of customer quality issues.
  • Managing resolution of supplier related quality issues.

Specials Product Designer

Winnipeg, MB

The role of the Specials Product Designer is primarily to process accurate and timely internal work orders, manufacturing details, submittals, and sub approvals using either AutoCAD or Solid Edge, and to provide assistance to both internal (production team members) and external customers when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide production assistance to cell(s) in a prompt, professional manner.
  • Strive to hit metrics as indicated by the Customer Service Manager, Team Leader, and/or Price.
  • Openly communicate and work cohesively with all RGD Specials Team Leaders and other Specials team members.
  • Ensure incoming requests are addressed appropriately and in a timely manner, guaranteeing that the request is either answered by a member of the design team or forwarded to an outside group who can address the request where applicable.
  • Ensure submittals and design packages are produced error free and on time.
  • Verify other team members’ work for accuracy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Process and compile manufacturing detail packages.
  • Process and compile submittal drawings.
  • Provide Field Quality Report assistance to Quality when required.
  • Be a point of contact for customers/reps/account managers to assist with projects and the routing of their requests.
  • Be a point of contact for production relating to design issues and inquiries.
  • Provide input on project feasibility to estimators and application engineers.
  • Communicate with the Team Leader regarding delays and issues on requests being processed understanding the issue and providing specific information as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Minimum grade 12 education
  • Post-secondary education preferred
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Solid Edge experience combined with AutoCAD preferred
  • Minimum one year experience in a manufacturing environment

Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Ability to read manufacturing drawings
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and presentation skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
