Application Engineer

Application Engineer (Suwanee, GA)

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide application support and design guidance to customers (Representatives, engineers, architects, consultants, contractors, etc.) to ensure proper product selection, application, training, and demonstration. Also prepare quotes and submittals for customers and coordinate with Account Managers as needed.
  • Provide technical assistance for the proper application and selection of relevant products.
  • Focus efforts (internal and external) on understanding client needs and meeting expectations.
  • Provide customers with any necessary project solutions and deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and coordinate quotations and submittals to support Price representatives and field sales.
  • Make confident and competent decisions to ensure acceptable performance and assess any project risk.
  • Assist in setting and achieving strategic and financial goals for the Critical Environments business unit.
  • Work with the manufacturing and design teams to constantly improve existing and new products.
  • Provide field and in-house technical presentations, training, and support for visitors.
  • Help identify and champion new ideas, approaches, products or services that drive business results.
  • Work efficiently and creatively to meet business objectives (internal and external).
  • Set and meet high expectations for personal and organizational performance.
  • Treat others with respect, promote a positive and productive culture, and contribute to shared team goals.

The ideal candidates for this position will have:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Technologist, or Electrical Technologist or equivalent required.
  • Ideal candidate will have passed the EIT/FE exam and either have or be in the process of obtaining a PE license.
  • Preferable candidate should have three plus years of experience in the HVAC and/or healthcare field, preferably in manufacturing, product support or product development.
  • Must be self-motivated, goal oriented individual with experience supporting and/or selling HVAC airside products and systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office is required.

Specials Product Designer
Winnipeg, MB

The role of the RGD Specials Designer is primarily to process accurate and timely internal work orders, manufacturing details, submittals and sub approvals, using either AutoCAD or SolidEdge, and to provide assistance to both internal (production team members) and external customer when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide production assistance to cell(s) in a prompt, professional manner.
  • Strive to hit metrics as indicated by Customer Service Manager, and / or Price.
  • Openly communicate and work cohesively with all RGD Specials Team Leaders.
  • Ensure incoming requests are addressed appropriately and in a timely manner, guaranteeing that the request is either answered by a member of the Design team or forwarded to an outside group who can address the request, where applicable.
  • Ensure Submittals and Design packages are produced error free and on time.
  • Verify other team members’ work for accuracy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Process and compile manufacturing detail packages.
  • Process and compile submittal drawings.
  • Provide Field Quality Report assistance to Quality when required.
  • Be a point of contact for customers/reps/account managers to assist with projects and the routing of their requests.
  • Be point of contact for production relating to Design issues and inquiries.
  • Provide input on project feasibility to estimators and applications engineering.
  • Communicate with Team Leader regarding delays and issues on request that are being processed, understanding the issue and providing specific information as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Minimum grade 12 education
  • Post-secondary education preferred
  • AutoCAD experience
  • SolidEdge experience combines with AutoCad preferred
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment

Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Ability to read manufacturing drawings
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Problem Solving Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and presentation skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
