Application Engineer

Price Industries, Inc., a leading manufacturer of Air Distribution Products for the HVAC industry is looking for new talent in our growing US office and manufacturing facility. Application Engineer (Suwanee, GA)

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide application support and design guidance to customers (Representatives, engineers, architects, consultants, contractors, etc.) to ensure proper product selection, application, training, and demonstration. Also prepare quotes and submittals for customers and coordinate with Account Managers as needed.
  • Provide technical assistance for the proper application and selection of relevant products.
  • Focus efforts (internal and external) on understanding client needs and meeting expectations.
  • Provide customers with any necessary project solutions and deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and coordinate quotations and submittals to support Price representatives and field sales.
  • Make confident and competent decisions to ensure acceptable performance and assess any project risk.
  • Assist in setting and achieving strategic and financial goals for the Critical Environments business unit.
  • Work with the manufacturing and design teams to constantly improve existing and new products.
  • Provide field and in-house technical presentations, training, and support for visitors.
  • Help identify and champion new ideas, approaches, products or services that drive business results.
  • Work efficiently and creatively to meet business objectives (internal and external).
  • Set and meet high expectations for personal and organizational performance.
  • Treat others with respect, promote a positive and productive culture, and contribute to shared team goals.

The ideal candidates for this position will have:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Technologist, or Electrical Technologist or equivalent required.
  • Ideal candidate will have passed the EIT/FE exam and either have or be in the process of obtaining a PE license.
  • Preferable candidate should have three plus years of experience in the HVAC and/or healthcare field, preferably in manufacturing, product support or product development.
  • Must be self-motivated, goal oriented individual with experience supporting and/or selling HVAC airside products and systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office is required.

Senior Buyer
Winnipeg, MB

The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient procurement of complex materials and services. The incumbent shall exhibit sound judgment, leadership and specialized knowledge ensuring procurement decisions achieve best overall value for the corporation.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating Purchase Orders for complex material and services within corporate purchasing procedures.
  • Monitoring open PO reports and expedite when appropriate.
  • Managing safety stock levels.
  • Developing and maintaining business relationships with customers, suppliers, and business associates.
  • Executing and supporting supplier performance.
  • Recommending a sourcing strategy to meet customer needs, market conditions and maximizing positive impact to the organization.
  • Preparing, issuing, receiving and participating in the analysis of formal local RFPs. Ensuring awards are in accordance with established evaluation criteria, best practice and within commercial law.
  • Leading procurement related negotiations with existing and new vendors.
  • Ensuring all relevant documentation is completed with all required information for the purposes of obtaining approvals and recording and reporting business.
  • Participating in cross-training opportunities throughout the department.
  • Remaining conversant regarding new technology, government regulations, policies and procedures related to procurement.

Qualifications:

  • 4 year Business degree from a recognized university plus a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience.
  • Advanced understanding of Corporate Purchasing procedures.
  • Advanced understanding of personal computers utilizing corporate ERP software.
  • Demonstrated high level of initiative and motivation to simultaneously handle complex procurement assignments in a team environment.
  • Advanced understanding of the various functions and responsibilities of the various departments and divisions throughout the corporation.
  • Proficient knowledge of the various material and services used throughout the corporation.
