Quality Engineer
Suwanee, GA

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer will interface with both manufacturing and the customer service team on the resolution of customer issues, develop and administer ISO 9001, and support manufacturing initiatives to improve quality. This position works with all aspects of the manufacturing team, customer service, and directly with our sales representatives and customers. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and administer ISO 9001 for the facility.
  • Assisting or taking the lead in direct day-to-day QA activities.
  • Assisting the Quality Manager with preparing monthly quality reports that show analysis of quality data and issues, providing recommendations to management.
  • Providing resolution to all customer inquiries of quality issues regarding Price product and its application. This will include some travel to customer sites, along with coordinating trips by others.
  • Support manufacturing in troubleshooting and analyzing quality issues within the plant.
  • Lead efforts to determine the root cause of problems and work with the team to eliminate.
  • In coordination with Value Stream Managers, lead continuous improvement efforts in the plant, focusing on reducing waste and eliminating variability in the processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors of Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) or mix of education and experience.
  • Advance degree in engineering or management is a plus.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance role working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated computer skills (must be proficient in MS Office).
  • Familiarity with ISO certification process (ISO 9001:2008 preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints, technical drawings, and contract specifications.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interact well with customers on the phone and in person is a must.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytic skills.

SPECIAL TRAINING:

  • ISO 9001 lead auditor training would be a plus.
  • Six Sigma or lean manufacturing training would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with AutCAD technical drawing software or equivalent.

SERVICE OVERVIEW:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for supervising the QMS system, processes, and support for the facility. This includes:

  • Managing ISO system functions such as internal audits/corrective actions.
  • Managing resolution of customer quality issues.
  • Managing resolution of supplier related quality issues.

Intermediate Buyer

Winnipeg, MB

This position is an integral part of the purchasing team and reports to the purchasing manager. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the execution of localized strategic projects and supplier relationships. A solid understanding of how the purchasing team impacts the company’s ability to meet customer requirements and corporate goals is paramount. The successful candidate is responsible for supporting the business needs related to suppliers to ensure Price consistently receives contracted terms and facilitates uncompromised quality standards. Preference will be given to those individuals with previous experience in a lean manufacturing environment. 

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing and supply chain optimization.
  • Completion of the Strategic Supply Chain Leadership Program (SCMP).
  • Experience in executing RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.
  • Experience in planning and leading negotiations and providing performance feedback to supply partners.
  • Sound knowledge of procurement practices relating to competitive bidding and procurement laws.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with general contract terms and conditions.
  • A focus and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Buyers are responsible for:

  • Purchasing specified and special material requests for manufacturing operations.
  • Assembling procurement documents such as RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, and contracts and their related amendments.
  • Supporting needs of internal customers by managing vendor relationships and effectively communicating requirements.
  • Participating in the evaluation of proposals, and the selection and award of contracts.
  • Negotiating costs and contracts with local suppliers.
  • Ensuring maintenance of supporting documentation.
  • Ensuring supplier compliance with the terms and conditions of the agreement, including measurement of supplier performance against key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Developing and maintaining ongoing effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Leading and actively participating in cross-functional teams to ensure supply chain goals and objectives are met. Ensuring compliance related to the strategic sourcing team’s procedures.
  • Focusing on cost savings goals and objectives. Strong negotiation skills are necessary.

Buyer positions require:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • An ability to work in a team environment with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • An ability to manage multiple projects and details at once.
  • Ambition, self-motivation, eagerness to learn, a positive attitude, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Previous manufacturing experience would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent at planning and organizing.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo a background check.
