The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall performance of Manufacturing and Service in the Value Stream (and all departments within the Value Stream), including Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Training, Morale and Continuous Improvement. This position interfaces with Sales, Engineering, Customer Service, Production Planning, Information Technology, Purchasing, and Human Resources in support of Price Industries efforts of becoming a world-class manufacturer.


  • Managing the Value Stream(s) and all the departments within it.
  • Efficiency and utilization (i.e. productivity) of the Value Stream.
  • Quality of the products built and effective resolution of quality issues.
  • Process and product flow through the Value Stream.
  • On-time delivery and recovery planning to mitigate missed deliveries.
  • Budgeting, controlling costs within budget and cost reduction within area.
  • Responsible, in part, for the Gross Margin of the Value Stream and directly responsible for the Labor Cost of Sales (LCOS), overhead costs, and material costs.
  • Process standardization, process improvement and overall continuous improvement.
  • Projects and objectives, as well as managing Value Stream Improvement activities.
  • Capacity / Manpower Planning and effective staffing.
  • Ensuring that product acceptance criteria is clearly understood.
  • Safety within the Value Stream, the implementation of safety programs and the identification of safety concerns and coordination of safety corrective action (eg. guarding).
  • Responsible for maintaining and publishing performance Metrics.
  • Act as a mentor for Supervisors and support them with discipline, interdepartmental communication, and other items when necessary, coupled with knowledge and adherence to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Represent the Value Stream as necessary at meetings, briefings, etc.
  • Interface with the customer, when called upon by Sales and Customer Service personnel.
  • Working with Sales, Engineering and customer on the development and introduction of new products in production.
  • Responsible for morale and conveying a positive identity and pride within the Value Stream.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience and Skills:

  • Verifiable success in the management of people and processes.
  • Training and experience in Lean Manufacturing.
  •  Ability to achieve desired results by working with and through others.
  • Self starter with strong initiative and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication, assembly and packing is highly preferred.
  • Experience in a union environment is preferred.

Application Support Specialist
Winnipeg, MB

Reporting to the Application Support Supervisor, the successful candidate will be providing support to the organization, as well as other varieties of application related services as required. This role will primarily consist of day-to-day monitoring and fulfilling of service requests and incidents to support external users and other operational areas within the company. The candidate will carry broad application knowledge, support experience, troubleshooting and process analysis capabilities.

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:

  • Provide application support, mainly for the company’s enterprise system, and for a variety of other applications.This includes data maintenance, user account administration, daily monitoring, incident management, request fulfillment and root cause analysis.
  • Help to ensure the enterprise system’s compliance to internal and external security accreditations and policies.This includes performing of periodical reports to monitor acquiescence.
  • Perform functional testing and documentation to support readiness of new solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement by assisting developers and analysts in conceptualizing and developing new enhancements/programs.
  • Keep knowledge base and work instruction documentations up to date.
  • Be engaged and communicative with the business areas being supported.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Minimum 3 years of application support experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • College Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge and technical expertise with a large-scale enterprise system.
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Demonstrated good customer service experience and application of industry’s best practices.
  • Working technical knowledge of programming languages and relational databases, including SharePoint, Progress and SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Experience in developing technical documentations for training and end-user procedures.
  • Experience with Syteline application considered an asset.
  • Knowledge on financial/accounting terminologies and processes related to manufacturing considered an asset.
  • ITIL Certification considered an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Highly customer service oriented.
  • Attention to accuracy and quality of work.
  • Self-motivated and able to work collaboratively with minimal supervision.
